2. How Elastic Helps You Monitor Your Kubernetes Cluster (And Retain Your Sanity)" by Evelien Schellekens
Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications can be a daunting task, especially as the size and complexity of your environment grows. That's where Elastic comes in, providing a scalable and centralized approach to monitoring that enables you to quickly identify and resolve issues within your infrastructure and applications. In this talk, we will take a deep dive into how Elastic can help you master Kubernetes monitoring and security, providing you with best practices and practical tips for getting the most out of this powerful tool. We'll also show you how to monitor your applications with OpenTelemetry and gain deeper insights into their performance with Elastic APM. Whether you're new to monitoring or a seasoned practitioner, this talk will provide you with the tools and knowledge you need to take your monitoring game to the next level.
3. Kubernetes Policies: State of the practice by Wito Delnat
Wito is a Lead Software Engineer at Kubeshop, an accelerator for open-source startups in the Kubernetes & Cloud-Native space.
Pod Security Policies never left that beta phase for a few good reasons. This hands-on technical talk takes you through alternative build-in Kubernetes features to improve the quality and security of your deployments: Pod Security Standards and Validating Admission Policies. The former adds sensible defaults, while the latter has just entered beta and allows additional customization through the Common Expression Language. Afterwards, we will also touch upon the pros and cons of adding third-party Kubernetes Policy Managers such as Kyverno, Kubescape, and Monokle.
