RuneTalk #8 – Kubernetes: Observability, Security and Multi-Tenancy Challenges

Details

Join us for a Kubernetes meetup at Impact Hub Brno (Cyrilská 7, 602 00 Brno) on Wednesday, 11 September, starting at 18:00. ☸

🚀 The evening kicks off with Andreas Grabner, CNCF Ambassador and DevRel at Dynatrace. Andreas will demonstrate how observability enhances platform engineering on Kubernetes through an exciting live demo.

🛡️ Introducing a new feature to RuneTalk Meetups, we have the CyberSec lightning talk – What it sometimes does(n't) take to be anonymous: The greatest fails of cyber criminals by Kateřina Henclová, Master IT student, cybersecurity Intern at Honeywell and Women4Cyber Czechia Youth Ambassador.

☁️ The tech talks wrap up with Adam Hamsik, CEO at Labyrinth Labs, who will delve into the challenges of running multi-tenant SaaS applications in Kubernetes. Adam will discuss practical strategies for tackling these challenges, helping to build robust and secure multi-tenant environments in Kubernetes.

📅 Mark your calendars and get ready for a great evening of food, drinks, and conversations.

Agenda
18:00 – Open Door
18:15 – Welcome & Introduction

18:20 – Andreas Grabner (Global DevRel Lead at Dynatrace) 👨‍💻
Successful Platform Engineering on K8s through Observability
Platform Engineering is one of the hottest topics in the CNCF and K8s ecosystem as it focuses on making engineers more efficient with developing, deploying, and operating services on top of cloud native platforms such as K8s. In this session, Andi Grabner, CNCF Ambassador and DevRel at Dynatrace shows how observability leads to more successful platform engineering projects, what observability as a self-service means and will demo a reference platform that consists of the popular CNCF tools such as Backstage, GitLab, Argo, OpenTelemetry, OpenFeature, Keptn and others.

Multi-Tenant SaaS Applications in Kubernetes: Strategies for Isolation and Efficiency
Running multi-tenant SaaS applications in Kubernetes can be quite challenging. Ensuring security and data isolation is crucial to keep user data safe, especially in dynamic and distributed systems. Alongside these concerns, managing costs, automating processes, and streamlining development workflows are essential for maintaining efficiency and scalability. In this presentation, we’ll explore these challenges and discuss practical strategies to tackle them, helping you build robust and secure multi-tenant environments in Kubernetes.

20:15 – Networking, Beer & Drinks 🍺🍹🥙

Discussions will be in English.
