Introduction and Kick-Off

10:45 - 11:30 AM
Speaker: Aravind Putrevu

Topic: Observability: Now; Next; Later
Abstract: Observability encompasses gaining insights into these systems’ internal workings through analysing various data sources. However, the efficient management and processing of observability data have presented significant challenges for organisations.
This talk aims to demystify observability ecosystem, shedding light on the key components, processes, and best practices in their design and implementation.
By understanding the intricacies organisations can effectively leverage observability & data to improve system performance and enhance troubleshooting processes.
During the talk, we will explore the foundational components of
1. Observability data collection, transport, storage, and analysis.
2. Sources of observability data, including logs, metrics, traces, and events, discuss their unique characteristics and value in understanding system behaviour.
3. We will take a look at different data ingestion techniques, such as push and pull models, and their implications for data pipeline architecture.
4. We will take a look at, different querying engines that help observability data. How they have evolved, what future looks like!
Furthermore, the talk will cover the challenges associated with scalability, reliability, and real-time processing in observability data.
