Kubernetes Slovenia Meetup Autumn 2024

Autumn is here and so is the next Kubernetes Slovenia meetup!

We will host both presenters live in Kranj so you are kindly welcome to join us in person and take the opportunity to mingle with people over food and drinks. However if you can't make it, the event will also be streamed.

At 5:30pm sharp - first presentation Ephemeral Kubernetes environments with Tilt by Jan Gorjanc

Learn how Leanpay adopted Tilt to create disposable Kubernetes environments, transforming their fragile testing environments into something that encourages collaboration and experimentation. With Tilt's automation, our teams can effortlessly spin up and tear down environments as needed, making collaboration smoother and more enjoyable. This not only speeds up our development cycles but also allows us to test applications in consistent, isolated spaces, ensuring greater reliability and faster feedback.
Note: This presentation is best suited for those with an existing k8s environment, as it focuses on upgrading and optimizing that setup. For this reason, it’s categorized as an Intermediate-level session.

Around 6:15pm - second presentation GitOps: Our Approach to Centrally Managed Argo CD by Uroš Verhovnik

We’ll discuss how we deployed Argo CD to manage multiple clusters, ensuring consistency and reliability in our CI/CD processes. Learn about the strategies we used, the tools we integrated, and the ongoing challenges we face. This talk will provide insights into our approach, the hurdles we’ve encountered, and how we’re working to overcome them.
Note: This session is designed for those who already have a k8s environment. We’ll focus on building your setup using GitOps principles. As such, this is an Intermediate-level presentation.

After 7:00pm we'll continue with informal part of the Meetup.
