Cannell Trail to Powers Peak

Come hike with us on the Cannell Trail to Powers Peak, or as far as you feel comfortable. Since this is an up-and-back trail hike, you can stop and turn around at any point.
This hike can be broken into different lengths. Be sure you carpool with people turning around at the same place.
The Singing Gate: 3 miles RT, 800 feet elevation gain.
The Back Saddle: 5 miles RT, 1,300 feet elevation gain.
The Saddle at P.P. turnoff: 8.5 miles RT, 2,500 feet elevation gain.
Powers Peak: 10 miles RT, with 3,300 feet of elevation gain.

The trail is mostly exposed and it could be warm, so bring a hat and plenty of water.
We are meeting at the Sierra Gateway Market in Kernville at 8:03am. We will drive 5 minutes or so to the Cannell Trailhead where we will begin our hike. Bakersfield hikers please arrange carpools in the Comments.
