Push notifications via Google Cloud Messaging Local storage via Content Providers Keep your users up-to-date! Stewart will present a short lecture on the Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) service for pushing update notifications from the Internet to Android devices. He will demonstrate with code examples from the Lost Android group project.

Keep your user's view consistent with the data! Norm will present a tutorial on implementing local storage in Android's Content Providers and SQLite database, and displaying the data in user Activities. He will demonstrate with code examples from his Real Messaging project.

This intermediate-level technical session will focus on receiving, storing and displaying data in your native Android application. Bring questions and examples from your own projects for an interactive discussion!
