2 night canoe trip to Kawartha Highlands

'll give 2 options to accommodate those who prefer to depart on Friday during the daytime as well as anyone who wishes to depart early Saturday morning.

Option 1 Friday Departure: Depart early on Friday and plan to arrive at the park by 2pm. Park and launch canoes at Long Lake and paddle 30 minutes to first portage 340m into Buzzard Lake. Set up camp at our site on Buzzard Lake and prepare dinner while relaxing around a campfire. After a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning we'll meet anyone who wants to arrive on Saturday.

Option 2 Saturday Departure: Depart from the GTA early Saturday morning to arrive at the park no later than 10am. Paddle Long Lake and portage 340m to Buzzard Lake. Meet the group members that stayed Friday night.

Saturday: Everyone will meet at the campsite #420 on Buzzard Lake and we'll continue our trip as a group. We'll portage 207m into Vixen Lake then paddle south and portage 541m into Shark Lake where we'll camp on site #451. Once we arrive at our beachfront campsite we'll enjoy the rest of our day swimming and relaxing on the beach.

Sunday: Pack up camp and make the trip back the same way we came. Arrive at our cars and drive home.

Canoes can be rented from Long Lake Lodge at a rate of 32.50/day

Camping fees will be $12.50/person per night or $25 for 2 nights. This includes a portion of the mandatory reservation fee. The additional $1.31 covers paypal processing fees.
