Friends of Killarney Spring Cleanup

This is your opportunity to help contribute to the trails we love hiking so much or just an excuse for spending time in the woods after the long winter.

The annual Friends of Killarney spring cleanup is happening May 2nd-3rd.

Free camping is provided to all volunteers for the weekend. There will be plenty of sites available. All that you have to do is when you arrive let the gate staff know you are with the volunteers for the cleanup weekend and which site you would like to occupy. If you are interested in staying at a hotel, the Killarney Bay Inn (705-287-2011) has vacancies for the weekend, however the cost of the hotel accommodation will not be covered by the Friends.

Meals will also provided on Saturday (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and Sunday (breakfast and lunch). Saturday will start with breakfast (time to be determined) at the park's staff housing, which is just 200m east of the park's main gate. Following breakfast it will be determined where each group of volunteers will be heading for the day. We will then reconvene for lunch and once again for dinner later in the day. Sunday will be more or less the same, but we will conclude our day with lunch in order to give everyone a large enough window to drive back at home for Monday.

The Friends provide three meals for Saturday; Sunday they provide breakfast and lunch. The dinner on Saturday night will be a potluck, which we encourage everyone to contribute one dish; whether that be an appetizer, entree or dessert.
