Alright everyone This trip to Franklin Island is well known and usually an easy one for all kayakers. This trip will have two purposes. The first is to get out there and enjoy summer. The second is to test a self made firewood tow along. I have always enjoyed gathering, sawing and chopping of dead fall. That being said certain Islands on Georgian Bay are having the much need dead fall used for fire wood. Rather than nutrients for the ecosystem. So after much pondering and figuring. I have created what I affectionately call the "Gadget".

It holds almost 2 bags of firewood and is water tight.... Que testing. Using local hard firewood to fill the "Gadget" we'll launch from Snug Harbour and aim for Franklin.

The voyage is between 5 and 7 km. The almost always tricky part is rounding Henrietta's point. once at camp set up the site and commence good times. Wet exits and entry's and practicing rolling your kayak. Of these things if you need assistance with I would be glad to lend a helping hand.

come night fall We'll enjoy a nice fire with dry fire... hopefully dry fire wood. And if lucky a starry night sky to star gaze. stumble into our tents after calling it a night. Sunday morning no rush to wake up.
