AUG. 5, 6, 7, 2017 Noganosh Lake is a non-operating Provincial Park: No gate house, no Park Staff and no camping fees.
Driving time from Kitchener or Toronto: 4 hours.
Total paddle distance: 10 to 15 km. each way, + 3 short portages.

SCHEDULE SAURDAY AUG. 5:
11:00 AM: Meet at the Put In near Flemings Landing.
Free Parking
No cell phone service here.
Canoe rental may be available from Tornado Resort, a 5 km. paddle upstream $30
per day.

3:00 PM: Find a campsite that we like on Noganosh Lake.
Set up.
Dinner and campfire.

SUNDAY AUG. 6:
SOMETIME AM: Breakfast
Paddle. Noganosh Lake has 25 km. of shoreline, with no cottages or power
boats, and several connecting lakes. We can also portage to other lakes, fish,
swim, or hike.
PM: Dinner and campfire.

MONDAY AUG. 7:
SOMETIME AM: Breakfast
NOON: Break camp and paddle out.
5:00 PM: Load the cars and head south to be home by 10:00 PM. assuming traffic.

We hope that this will be a relaxing and challenging trip in the wilderness for people who know how to enjoy the wilderness. We will be a long way from Tim Hortons.

We can drive up Saturday morning,
or
drive up Friday, and stay at Tornado’s Motel, ($75 per night, 14 minutes drive, 1-800-663-2277 http://www.tornadosresorts.com/ ),
or
a campground, (Grundy Lake Provincial Park, 29 minutes drive, https://www.ontarioparks.com/reservations ), on Friday night.

Please use the message board or let the organizer know what your plans are.

Each participant it responsible to find there own canoe partner and canoe. They are also responsible to ensure that they have there own supplies, gear and food.

This canoe trip is not overly difficult however with any outdoor activities there are some inherent risk. Each participant chooses to accept all these risk

DIRECTIONS TO THE PUT IN: Take Hwy. 400 North from Barrie, continue north on Hwy 69 to Hwy 522 East. Turn right on Hwy 522 to Birchwood Trail. (2 hours 29 minutes, 252 km.) Turn right on to Birchwood Trail, and take the first road left off of Birchwood (450 metres from 522), to the put in. There is no cell phone service here. Save your maps at home.
