I will kayaking out to Phillip Edward Island for the weekend. There is not much of a plan here. If there are little or no waves then maybe we will try to paddle around the whole island (I'm guessing around 60km, roughly 20km/day). If there are bigger waves we will stay on the north side of the island and explore beyond Collins inlet. We will decide when we get there what we will do. Saturday, September 2nd we should meet between 9 or 9:30 at the Chikanishing boat launch so we can launch the kayaks around 10am. At some point we will pick a spot to camp but it will not be the usual spot our group goes... I need to see new places! Sunday, September 3rd after breakfast we will pack up, paddle, explore and find another spot to camp for the night. Monday, September 4th at some point we should probably find our way to the cars and go back to reality. Permits to park cars at the launch point are required and can be purchased at the park office. This should not be your first time in a kayak. Everyone is responsible for their own food, gear and safety. Maps are very useful; please have one.
