Hey Everyone here's a nice beginner kayaking trip for those who may be on the fence about getting into a sea kayak.

So here's the plan Friday head up after work to Sturgeon Bay Provincial Park for easy staging come Saturday. Or drive up super early on Saturday morning. The choice is yours.

After arriving at Bayfield inlet unload the kayaks from cars and begin packing the boats.

Once all boats are set to go we'll park the cars at the resort across the way from the boat launch. Then TO THE BOATS!!!

There are three routes that can be taken depending on the weather and group experience. We'll most likely take the route where we bob and weave in and around some small islands be fore reaching the camping spot.

Once there unload the kayaks set up the tents and kick back. Exploration is always encouraged so depending on the group energy level a late mid-day excursion might be in order.

After the adventurer in us is fully satisfied start making supper and lay back and if the weather cooperates do some star gazing.

Hit the hay before 1:00 am

Monday. pack up camp and head back to Bayfield inlet.

After loading the cars say goodbyes and head for home.

Logistics:
Carpooling is nice. Make sure that your fair when you split the cost for that ridiculously expensive gasoline.

Provincial park: A campsite at Sturgeon Bay will cost $53. That split between 6 people is $8.33 I will reserve one site. I will only reserve a second site if 10 or more are going to camp at Sturgeon Bay.

Kayak Rentals: White Squall is the one to go to in the area. they do deliver but for a pretty penny. It is cheaper to pick up the kayak and transport it your self. If your are unsure or need help the staff at White Squall can help but if there too busy let me know and I may be able to assist. Here is the contact info for White Squall.

Experience level: Beginner the distance is around 8 km out to the Painted Rocks. and the water is quite warm around +20 degrees. Weather is a factor and I will be monitoring it closely come the week of the meet up.
