We are going on a backcountry canoe trip, starting at Pete's Place access point going to Blackstone Harbor lake to set a base camp. From there we have 2 options- portage across to Conger lake and explore the area or paddle across towards Gilman's bay and check out the area and little islands.

friday & saturday: camp at site 511 on Blackstone harbor
sunday: morning paddle & return to Pete's place parking lot.

Difficulty level: beginner
You do need basic paddling and water safety skills. It's not a loop, so you can paddle as much or as little as you want for that weekend.
You will also need basic camping skills, gear & clothing. This is not a car camping trip! There is a thunderbox as toilet. there can be rain, bugs, uneven ground to deal with.

rentals
canoe rentals right at Pete's place. phone no: 705-378-2401
call in advance to book and avoid surprises.

getting there:
we encourage carpooling as much as possible.

cost:
expect about $29 per person (for the camping fees, booking fees, paypal fees & firewood)

i will set up a google sheet later for carpooling & paddling partners.

one last note, since late sept the park is not that full, there is possibility to book a 2nd site if extra people want to sign up. drop me a message.
