Backcountry Kayak trip to Philip Edward Island
Hosted by The KW Backcountry Travel Meetup
Details
The trip is full.
We’ll be paddling along the south shore of PEI, one of Georgian Bay’s thousands and thousands of islands. This time of year the water is at its warmest, easily warm enough for swimming. This will be a relaxed pace trip, and we’ll be base-camping, so plenty of time for swimming and sight seeing.
We’ll head up Friday, August 19, camping at Killarney that night, then launching Saturday morning. We’ll be returning to the cars mid-afternoon, Tuesday the 23rd. On account of weather vagaries, you might want to have your calendar free for the following day or two, just in case.
A sea kayak will be required. Trip details and an organizing spreadsheet will be sent by email. No pets on this trip, thanks.
Expenses are few - maybe $25 for camping and parking, plus kayak rental if required.
Your RSVP puts you on the Waitlist, and I will contact you to discuss your kayaking experience. I will balance the mix of experienced and less experienced sea kayakers.
Your RSVP indicates your agreement with the terms of the Co-Participant Understanding.
There's always someone to lend a hand on KWBT Meetup trips, but you are responsible for your own transportation, food, gear, and personal safety. You can DM me with any questions through this Meetup app.
