Long weekend paddle through the Haliburton highland lakes. the website claims this to be "best loop trip in the Frost area and is perfect for a long weekend getaway".

Itinerary:

  1. Saturday: morning start at Big Hawk Lake access point. cross into Clear lk. portage 225m & 200m, then into Red Pine lake. set camp & explore.
  2. Sunday: lift camp and paddle to Nunikani lk. explore the islands & channels. 1 portage 440m
  3. Monday: break up tent, portage P194m then we head back to the starting point

Number of portages: 4

difficulty: easy
it's good for first time backcountry. you do need to basic paddling skills. some wind on the Big Hawk lake

fee: $30/person with a group of 6 ppl

How to sign up?
1. add yourself to the waitlist
2. send the campsite fee payment (e-transfer to asvin_parsad@yahoo.ca)
3. i will move you to the 'going' list, until we reach 6 ppl

Expectations:
This is just a meetup of fellow people who want to explore the backcountry. It is NOT a guided adventure/travel tour. You are responsible of your own gear, your own safety, navigation, skill level, first aid, physical fitness, emergency contacts, etc, etc.

You are welcome to carpool, make arrangements for paddle partners, or gear sharing. the messaging feature in meetup is quite handy or we can do a whatsapp group closer to the event date.
