Once I spent a day scouting out the roads of the Niagara region. While peddling I found

The wild turkeys Wineries and their tasting rooms Quiet roads working their way through orchards and vineyards The historic Welland channel, "Where Ships Climb the Mountain". I almost forgot, Niagara Falls On the weekend of October 1st &2nd you can come see the idyllic Niagara Peninsula too on a bike. If you have been interested in learning to tour on a bicycle this is the trip for you. This is a very easy tour with plenty of time for sightseeing; I covered the distance in one afternoon but we will be spending two days. The are several small towns along the way for snacks. Traffic is generally quiet and most of the distance will covered on trail. This will be a credit card style tour. This means we will not need to carry camping gear as we will be staying in a hotel and eating at restaurants. Everything you need should fit in a small backpack. If you ask I may have some space on my bike rack to carry it for you. The plan is to leave KW Saturday morning at 8AM via car. We will start biking in St. Catherines on the Welland Channel bike path. At lock 3 we can explore the museum and if we are lucky watch one of the boats work its way through. Further up the trail we will take a left and head to Niagara Falls for the night. The next morning we will follow the Niagara river bike path a ways before heading off into the quiet country roads to stop off at several wineries for tastings. We will stop for a late lunch in Virgil and then head back to the Welland Canal. From there it is a very easy ride back to the cars. Join us and learn a new way to travel.

A note about the RSVP fee: I will be looking for a hotel for the group. As a result I will be needing to make a reservation. The $20 helps covers this. The actual cost of a broken reservation may be greater depending on the hotel.

What to Pack: * Clothes for Biking Saturday * Clothes for biking Sunday * Helmet * Bike ;) * Clothes for wearing in town * Toiletries (Tooth brush, brush/comb, contact solution, etc). * Spending cash and Credit card

Nice to have: * Small repair kit (I will have one to share if you don't have one) * Bike mounted water bottle * Sunglasses * Sunscreen * Camera
