Canoe camping, Haliburton Highlands Water Trails

Back by popular demand, a repeat of last year's Victoria Day Weekend canoe trip.
Intinerary:
Saturday, May 19, 7 am, carpool from Tim Horton's, Weber and Northfield, Waterloo. Vehicles not part of the caravan can be left at a location close by.
Arrive at the Leslie Frost Center, Hwy 35 south of Dorset, at 11:30 am. Paddle to Sherborne Lake, site 22A, which serves as base camp for the weekend.
Sunday, paddle the same loop as last year through lakes, Big Hawk, Clear, Red Pine and Nunakani, approximately 24 km.
Monday, return after a group toast at the 'Firehouse'
Cost:
$17.40 (campsite) + shared gas ($20) + 3 day shared canoe rental ($55 ) = $92.40 (estimates before tax)
note: Combining both sites, 22A and 22B, we can handle 26 people.
Canoe Rental:
The Frost Center (http://www.algonquinhighlands.ca/?cat=trails&page=rentals), 705-766-9033, 10am-3pm, rents canoes at our launch site. $37 per day (includes paddles, life jackets and safety kit). When renting include 3 days, Sat., Sun., Mon.

Difficulty:
First time canoeists and/or backcountry campers welcome.
Gear:
The sole portage to base camp is reasonably short so weight isn't a huge issue. The second day has numerous portages but only day packs are required. Don't forget bug spray and a bug jacket.
