Brotli(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brotli) is a new compression scheme publish by Google in 2016. Ryan Hall has patched RubyOnRails to support this new scheme, as an alternative to gzip. He will describe his development process, and his work to get the change merged into the RubyOnRails upstream repository. Why use brotli at all? Ryan will talk about that too!

Ryan Hall(https://github.com/RyanEdwardHall) went to school at Wilfrid Laurier and has worked in tech starts-up for the last decade, and is now working at Vidyard(https://www.vidyard.com/).
He has posted hobby code on Github, and might have written the worlds fastest anagram solver written in Go. (https://github.com/RyanEdwardHall/anagrambler)
