KWRuby January: "Elixir and Phoenix for Rails Developers" by Declan Whelan

Details

Programming in Elixir sparks joy, just like Ruby.

Building Phoenix web apps feels just like Rails, with no magic.

In this talk Delcan will compare Elixir and Phoenix with Ruby and Rails. He
will explore how Elixir addresses Ruby's concurrency limitations opening the door to building highly concurrent, fault tolerant, scalable systems.

Elixir might just be the next Rails.

Declan Whelan is a software developer. He works mostly as an engineering coach for teams. He has also been a big supporter of agile methods, particularly Extreme Programming(XP).

Our schedule for the night is approximately:

  • 1900, arrive and have something to eat and drink
