ELK? Is that some kind of reindeer? by João Duarte (elasticsearch)

Details
Following our previous talks, always with a chilled vibe and great content, this time we have João from elasticsearch giving us a look into the stack of one of the most powerful search and analytics open source engines on the market.
Description:
This talk is a gentle introduction to the Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana open source stack for data analytics: Logstash is a streaming ETL tool for shipping data from system A to B, elasticsearch is a full text search database built on top of Lucene with a focus on scalability and with a sweet REST API, and Kibana, a data visualization tool for data exploration, creation of dashboards and more!
I'll go through these three tools, explaining how they work and how you can work with them, using a dataset with more than a half a million documents as a demo.
Speaker Bio:
I'm a software developer and log whisperer with a passion for event driven architectures, Ruby, functional programming languages, distributed systems, tango and dogs. I worked at Portugal Telecom, where I found out about Logstash and, after using it for 3 years, decided to join ElasticSearch to work on it full time.
