About the talks

👉 Internal Knowledge processing with Retrieved-Augmented Generation

• How can we integrate personalized and intra-company content, information and knowledge into our day-to-day AI tools? In this talk, we will talk about NLP techniques and how to combine them with LLMs for the latest advances in knowledge processing: RAG - Retrieved-Augmented Generation.

👉 Observability and evaluation of LLM systems and agents

• We’ll delve into the critical aspects of monitoring and assessing Large Language Model (LLM) systems and AI agents, exploring the importance of observability in understanding the inner workings and performance of these models, particularly in real-time applications. By examining key metrics and evaluation frameworks, we’ll discuss how to ensure transparency, reliability, and efficiency in LLM systems, providing insights on optimizing their performance in complex environments and improving their accountability in decision-making processes.

About the speakers

🗣️ João Rocha e Melo is an AI division leader, with deep expertise in data science and machine learning. He has managed data teams, focusing on AI solutions that bridge innovation and business strategy. As an educator, João has trained professionals in AI and data analytics, fostering the next generation of talent.

🗣️ Fernando Peres is a consultant and AI engineer with over 25 years of experience developing solutions for various industries and business disciplines (Marketing, HR, Human Capital Management, Credit Risk Management, and Finance). He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, an MBA in Business Administration, a Postgraduate degree in Big Data, a Master's in Data Science, and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. Currently, he is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of MyNorth Group, where he applies AI to healthcare and physical performance management. He is also a Researcher and Guest Lecturer at NOVA IMS in Lisbon.
