Kdb+ in the cloud

SPEAKERS SPOTLIGHT:

1. Kevin Holsgrove, J.P. Morgan Chase, kdb+ Architect
   “Implementing a kdb+ framework in Kubernetes”

Kubernetes is a widely adopted open source container orchestration platform. Kevin will demonstrate how to take a traditional query routing kdb+ framework and redesign it in the world of Kubernetes.

2. Jack Stapleton, Kx, kdb+ Software Engineer
   “Autoscaling the Real-time Database in the Cloud”

AWS Autoscaling can both reduce costs and increase the availability of our databases.
Jack will show how to set up a Tickerplant to leverage this technology in a kdb+ RDB.

3. Peter Sweeney, UBS, kdb+ lead
   “Cloud for non-experts”

Peter Sweeney, UBS kdb+ lead will present “Cloud for non-experts” introducing some of the lessons learned on the path to cloud migration of their kdb+ plant.

UBS is migrating its existing market data platform to their strategic cloud provider (Azure) and will touch on some of the lessons learned to date – both in evaluating potential cloud architectures and identifying costs and constraints associated with it.
