Let’s sit down, relax and talk about things that are important to us, but we usually don’t think so much about them!

In today’s busy world, we are always running, working, and thinking about the next thing to do. In the middle of all this, an old and important question remains:
What is a good life?
In this philosophical talk and guided reflection, we will explore simple ideas from ancient philosophy that can help us live better today. We will look at thoughts from Western philosophy, such as Aristotle and the Stoics, and from Eastern traditions, including Buddhism and Japanese philosophy.
This session is not about difficult theories or right answers. It is a space to slow down, think, and share. We will reflect on questions like:
-What is real happiness?
-Why do we suffer?
-What is truly important in life?
-How can we live with more balance and meaning?
This event is dedicated to Japanese people who want to practice English conversation through meaningful topics. No previous knowledge of philosophy is needed.

# # Enjoy Acropolis Philosophy Café　（やさしい英語で学ぶ哲学）

座ってリラックスしながら、私たちにとって大切だけれど、ふだんはあまり深く考えないことについて話してみましょう！

忙しく慌ただしい現代社会では、私たちは常にバタバタ働き続け、次に何をすべきかを考えています。
そんな日常の中で、昔から変わらずされてきた問いがあります。

「よい人生とは何か？」

この哲学レクチャー兼ディスカッションでは、現代をよりよく生きるためのヒントとなる、古代哲学のシンプルな考え方を探っていきます。
アリストテレスやストア派といった西洋哲学の思想に加え、仏教や日本哲学などの東洋思想にも目を向けます。

このセッションは、難しい理論や正解を求めるものではありません。
立ち止まり、考え、共有するための静かな時間です。

次のような問いについて:
一緒に考えてみましょう。
ー本当の幸福とは何か？
ーなぜ私たちは苦しむのか？
ー人生で本当に大切なものとは？
ーどうすれば、よりバランスの取れた意味のある人生を送れるのか？

本イベントは、意味のあるテーマを通して英会話を練習したい日本人の方を対象としています。
哲学の事前知識は一切必要ありません。
