Solr+Hadoop: Adding Search to the Big Data Ecosystem presented by Gregory Chanan

Recently Apache Solr has been integrated into the Hadoop ecosystem to provide full text search at "big data" scale. This talk will give an overview of how Cloudera has tackled integrating Solr into the Hadoop ecosystem and highlights some of the design decisions and future plans. Learn how Solr is going to get closer to Hadoop, which contributions are going to what project, and how you should consider tackling search at Hadoop scale in the future.

Gregory's Bio:

Gregory Chanan is a Software Engineer at Cloudera working on Cloudera Search. He is a committer on the Apache HBase project and a contributor to various other Apache projects. Prior to Cloudera, he worked as a Software Engineer for distributed computing software startup Optumsoft. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from Stanford University, where he did research in the Distributed Systems Group.
