Strokes of Light: Claude Monet
Details
Impressionist Claude Monet revolutionized painting by using rapid, broken brushstrokes and vibrant, unmixed color to capture the fleeting, ephemeral nature of light. His technique, focused on the sensory perception of light rather than precise detail, creating luminous, textured surfaces that shifted with atmospheric conditions. As the father of the Impressionists, his art laid the groundwork for successive late 19th and early 20th century art movements.
