Get Your Kicks on Route 66: Roadside Architecture
Roadside, Programmatic, Mimetic, Novelty--whatever you call it, it's fun, crazy, and eye-catching. These quirky structures were popularized alongside the growing car culture, meant to serve motorists' needs as they were traveling along America's highways. From diners to dinosaurs, mimetic architecture is a whole zany side of design that brings delight and memories of our American motoring heritage.
The lecture is $15 (plus $1 Paypal fees). Can't make it live? Register and a replay will be sent to you upon request. If you would like to avoid all the Paypal and Meetup fees (approximately $2 added on by Meetup for a total of approximately $3 in extra fees), you can pay me directly through Venmo or Zelle. Email me at
EleanorSchrader@roadrunner.com for payment directions.
I will email you via Meetup with the Zoom link three hours in advance of the lecture. If you do not receive the Zoom link (after checking your spam box, too), email me at EleanorSchrader@roadrunner.com. Please email me at least 30 minutes before the lecture if you haven't received your link.
Ticket sales end 15 minutes before the lecture.
I look forward to having you join me!
