Thanks to our sponsor Goodwin, we're back with another in-person hardware meetup! This time we're meeting at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator's (LACI) Advanced Prototyping Center (partially pictured above).

Covid Expectations @ LACI

The LACI campus is still operating with masks in place, reduced capacity, and vaccination requirements. Here are the steps we need you to follow:

  1. Bring your vaccination card or negative PCR test of max 72 hours, and an identification.
  2. Fill out this self-assessment before coming to campus: Weekly Self Assessment
  3. When you get to campus, please check in with our security team, they will help you check in. You will need to say who you are coming to meet, select our host's name: Molly Crete.
  4. Parking is available in the LACI Parking Lot.

Here’s the rough agenda for the evening:

6:30 - 7:00pm: Arrive, grab a bite and a drink, mix and mingle.

7:00 - 7:15pm: Welcome notes from our organizers and host.

7:15 - 7:45pm: Theodore Ullrich of PLUS. Ted is a designer, engineer, and entrepreneur, who in 2010 founded Tomorrow Lab, a New York-based invention studio for hardware products. Now in LA, he is launching PLUS. PLUS makes D2C foldable, take-with-you EVs packed with patented design features that make owning one better — and cheaper — than using shared systems.

7:45 - 8:15pm: Sabrina Williams of SEED. SEED is a benefit corporation helping buyers and underserved farmers grow smart and feed more, by democratizing access to agriculture technology and carbon-credit markets. For urban and developing communities, SEED's technology represents a future of agriculture that historically only big corporations have had access to.

8:15 - 8:45pm: Riley Kuffner of Miravel, makers of the Wall Garden, a beautiful new appliance that grows food automatically in any environment. Miravel sells to commercial clients such as apartment buildings, office spaces, and restaurants, promoting a world where food is grown all around us.

9:30pm: Wrap up and head to a nearby bar for a nightcap.
