AOL's J.McCollum: Trigger; configuring network hardware so you don't have to

Details

Joint meetup with LAWebSpeed (https://www.meetup.com/LAWebSpeed/events/78583602/):

Trigger - Configuring network hardware so you don't have to:
AOL has a huge network. Are you done laughing? No seriously, we have a HUGE network. Yes, the network has shrank over the years, but we still have over 5,000 network devices we have to keep up and running. In this presentation I will talk about Trigger, a network toolkit we created to manage our network hardware at scale.

He is focused on unifying all network engineering configuration and interaction under a suite of service-based components. Jathan is an avid member of LA's Python programming interest group, the SoCal Piggies, and the leader developer of Trigger, an open source Python network engineering toolkit.

After over 25 years, AOL is still very much a pioneer in technology and host to a massive global network backbone, our own internal cloud, and more systems than you can shake a stick at.
