Creating Impactful UX Roadmaps

As the UX design and research functions grow at many companies, there comes a time when the UX professionals must ask: do we need our own roadmap? Join us for our next virtual panel event with an exciting lineup of panelists in top positions at their organizations creating UX roadmaps, especially as they relate to planning out research projects.

Some of the questions we'll cover include, but aren't limited to:

• Why roadmap? Why not just stay agile and keep iterating as ideas evolve?
• How do you get stakeholder buy-in for priorities that don’t fit into the current product cycle?
• How do you react to change and plan for flexibility?
• How do you decide on competing priorities in the roadmap?
• Which is better: one overall UX roadmap or multiple roadmaps for different functions encompassing the UX team?

Each of our panelists comes to us with their own unique experiences and perspectives formulating UX roadmaps across a variety of organizational cultures and environments so we're excited to hear what's sure to be a lively discussion!

ABOUT OUR PANELISTS:

Jason Giles, VP of Product Design at UserTesting

Jason Giles began his professional career as a designer at Microsoft, where he effectively “grew up” alongside the UX discipline itself. Having actively participated in that evolution, Jason transitioned to design management where he has focused on building teams with great cultures that deliver awesome product experiences.

As VP of Product Design at UserTesting, Jason now leads a team of researchers, designers, writers with the mission to enable real human insight and lead a movement for empathy.

Jen Plebani, Ph.D., Research Manager at Zwift:

Jen started her career at a small research consulting firm. Since then, she has held a variety of research positions, where her roles have included leading clinical trials, directing brand strategy, research and innovation, and driving UX research initiatives.

Jen currently leads the Research Center of Excellence for Zwift, where she oversees both the consumer insights and user experience research efforts across the company.

Lauren Zack, VP of Product Design at Doma:

Lauren is an award-winning senior leader in User Experience (UX), User Research and Product Design, with expertise in applying design thinking to product development in agile, waterfall or lean teams. Her extensive experience focuses on uncovering insights that lead to the development of products that delight humans.

Lauren’s superpower is creating and leading highly engaged, successful teams, by using a unique combination of business acumen, strong technical, communication and interpersonal skills. Passionate about promoting diversity and creating inclusion through hiring practices, culture, education and inclusive design, Lauren currently has the honor of leading the Product Design team at Doma, a newly public company disrupting the real estate space.
