Looking for some holiday off leash fun!? Come join our now annual Ugly Holiday Sweater Hike! Details below:
📆Date: Saturday, December 13, 2025
🕰️Time: 8:30 - 11:00 AM (departing at 8:35 AM per Viz Whizz guidelines)
📍Location: Plum Canyon Park, 18819 Skyline Ranch Rd, Santa Clarita, CA 91351 <— technically, this is the address, but the hiking location is actually behind the park. Please see parking instructions below on where to park/meet.
🅿️ Parking: from Skyline Ranch Road, turn north onto Bension Drive, then turn right/east onto Annmae Place. As soon as you turn right onto Annmae Place, there will be a driveway that leads you to the parking lot; immediately turn right again. We will be meeting at the picnic tables off of the parking lot. Please see the pictures for reference.
🧭Description: at 8:35 AM, we will depart from the picnic tables and head to the trailhead together leashed. The trailhead is just north of the parking lot, as if you’re walking towards Annmae Place. It’s a gated entrance. Once we are safe, we’ll give the green light to off-leash via Viz Whizz guidelines. The hike is overall of mild/moderate difficulty with dirt/loose gravel terrain. We ascended one bigger hill last time we were there, but took our time to enjoy the lovely scenery. It was an impromptu side adventure, guided by our local VizWhizzers. We do recommend wearing your hiking boots. Shade is also limited, so please bring your hats, sunblock, etc if you prefer maximum sun protection (even in January) + plenty of water/snacks for you and your pup.
🎉 Festivities: Do you and your bird dog have an ugly holiday sweater you’re dying to wear? We would love to see you and your pup rock the ugliest holiday sweaters you’ve got. We are an inclusive group so come bring your human and dog festive fit! There will be a raffle prize for all vizwhizzing attendees.
⚠️: mountain bikers and rattlesnakes (not 🐍 season but still remaining vigilant)
🚽Restrooms: public restrooms in the park
♿️ Accessibility: wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot
