What we’re about

Welcome to the Lab for Mask & Movement Theatre, New York City’s premier space for exploring physical theatre, movement, and mask work!
This group is dedicated to artists, actors, performers, and enthusiasts who are passionate about the body as a storytelling instrument. Rooted in European traditions and practices, this lab-style community embraces techniques like Commedia dell’Arte, biomechanics, gesture, and more to foster creativity and presence.
Whether you’re a seasoned practitioner or just beginning your journey into physical theatre, this is your space to explore:

  • Workshops and Training: Learn and refine foundational techniques in mask work and physical expression.
  • Creative Exploration: Develop your craft in a supportive and experimental environment.
  • Collaborative Opportunities: Connect with like-minded artists to devise original works.

Rediscover the power of movement and the mask to communicate, transform, and inspire. No prior experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and an open mind.
