[Concept]
Connect With is based on making new connections with people while enjoying free talking, games, and discussing hobbies.
We wanted to make a meetup that caters to all people, including those such as the following:
-Not confident in/want to improve Japanese (or English)
-Unsure about participating in a Meetup on their own
-Experience difficulty making friends at events
-Just want to make many new friends
It's our goal to assist each and every participant to make new friends through Connect With!
We know breaking the ice can be hard at first, so during the meetup we give each participant a name tag to facilitate easy communication. Write your name and one or two of your hobbies on the name tag and enjoy some lighthearted socializing and games with people of all countries!
[About the organizers]
Connect With is run by Kevin from the USA and Hiroki from Osaka.
When Hiroki was living in New York, he made many friends through Meetup events there, so we decided to create our own space in Tokyo where people could make new connections other people and we started "Connect With".
Kevin came to Tokyo about 6 years ago and is working as a translator/interepter, so if you want any advice on communicating in Japanese or just want to know a specific word/phrase, feel free to ask!
