Picasso Style Art Class

In this joyful, all-levels class, we’ll step into the playful spirit of Picasso and create expressive self-portraits that celebrate experimentation over perfection. This experience is designed for beginners and seasoned artists alike—no prior skills required, just a willingness to explore.

As a creative teacher and working artist, JJ Riggs centers her classes on creativity first. Technique can be learned at any time—but imagination is the foundation of all great art. Through guided prompts, unexpected color choices, and permission to break the “rules,” you’ll stretch beyond what feels comfortable and discover new ways of seeing yourself on the canvas. These projects invite curiosity and bold decisions. You may surprise yourself. You may laugh. You may create something unlike anything you’ve made before. That’s the point.

By the end of class, you’ll walk away with a vibrant, expressive self-portrait—and the reminder that art is meant to be playful. Come ready to experiment. Come ready to loosen up. Come ready to create.
