The Itinerary:
We're chasing that golden hour glow through Big Cottonwood Canyon like the basic fall enthusiasts we absolutely are. (And we're here for it.) We'll ooh and aah at trees doing their one job—changing colors—then head to Midway for a civilized picnic where we'll pretend the food doesn't have dirt on it and the bug situation is totally manageable. After we've sufficiently fueled up, we're taking the Alpine Loop because apparently one scenic drive isn't enough, and finishing with a cruise down Provo Canyon as the light gets all moody and dramatic. It's basically a three-act play, but with cars and carbs.
What to Expect:
Stunning views, Instagram-worthy moments you'll probably mess up, fellow leaf-peepers fighting for the same photo spots, and maybe some light traffic as everyone in Utah has the same idea. Bring your patience and your sense of humor.
What to Bring:
A picnic dish to share, layers, sunscreen, a camera, and a genuine appreciation for trees showing off.
Meeting Details:
We're carpooling for maximum fun and minimum parking chaos. Meet at the Park & Ride at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon at 3:30 PM sharp. We'll carpool together from there—easier on gas, easier on the planet, and honestly, more fun.
