Hike Sintra - Colares, Peninha, Adraga Beach (16km/600m)

**This group is for women who live in the Lisbon metro area**

Hike Description:
We'll meet at Portela de Sintra train station and catch the bus to start in Colares town. We'll hike uphill through the cute town of Penedo to the Peninha viewpoint with spectacular views. Then we'll descend through the forest and open land towards the sea, ending with a well deserved break on Adraga beach. Total elevation gain is around 600m, including some steep ascents in the first 6km... it's worth it!

Wear shoes with a good grip, bring at least 1.5L water, and lunch/snacks as there isn't anywhere to stop until Adraga!

Meeting Time & Place:
Meet at the 1254 bus stop P-3 on the north side of Portela de Sintra station. We'll catch the 1254 bus leaving at 10:10 and get off in Colares.
I'll be taking the Sintra train that leaves Oriente at 9:06 AM, arriving in Portela at 9:52.
When you get off the train coming from Lisbon - exit through the gates in the middle of the platform, take the stairs underground, turn to the right, and you'll find the bus stop.

If you're coming by car or bus from Cascais and prefer to meet us in Colares - plan to be at Igreja Paroquial de Colares by 10:20 and leave a comment so we know to look for you! Bus 1624 runs from Cascais and you can also return on the same bus.

Other Information:
This is not a circular hike. To return from Adraga beach, we can walk up to Almocageme (~20 mins) and catch the bus back to the train station. There is a bus at least every 30 mins.
