
What we’re about
We plan to meet once a month for lunch and book discussion. We will rotate locations between Lone Tree, Castle Rock, and Parker and welcome those from Douglas County and beyond. We seek to create an inclusive environment where we can openly discuss our opinions and share different points of view. Our goal is to read books covering a diverse span of viewpoints with an emphasis on interesting, fun and thought-provoking books.

For our September meeting, we will be discussing "My Name Is Emilia del Valle" by Chilean writer, Isabel Allende.
My Name is Emilia Del Valle is a novel by Isabel Allende. Set in San Francisco in 1866, the story follows an Irish nun who gives birth to a daughter named Emilia Del Valle. Raised by a loving stepfather, Emilia grows into an independent thinker and a self-sufficient young woman. She pursues her passion for writing, defying societal norms, and begins publishing pulp fiction using a man's pen name

Hi all,
Our book of the month for October will be "The Tattooist of Auschwitz" by Heather Morris.
"The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a 2018 Holocaust novel by New Zealand novelist Heather Morris. The book tells the story of how Slovakian Jew Lale Sokolov, who was imprisoned at Auschwitz in 1942, fell in love with a girl he was tattooing at the concentration camp. The story is based on the real lives of Sokolov and his wife, Gita Furman."
This novel was originally written as a screenplay and was made into a movie that can be viewed on Peacock, Amazon Prime, SkyShowtime, and Paramount+.
We will be meeting at Heidi's Brooklyn Deli in Parker located at 19751 Mainstreet across the street from the Pace Center.

For November, we will be reading "The Last Caretaker" by Jessica Strawser.
"The Last Caretaker by Jessica Strawser is a page-turning thriller that follows the story of Katie, a woman fleeing a difficult past who stumbles upon a network of safe houses for domestic violence victims. As she grapples with the morality of her job, she becomes unsure of who she can trust."
We will meet in Lone Tree at Newk's Eatery at 11:30AM. Newk's is located at 10012 Commons Street, Suite 100 near Sprouts.
