Whether your team's UI is already done, in the middle of a refresh, or in a complete overhaul in preparation for the EAA (European Accessibility Act) now is the time to ensure your UI has more than color contrast checked off the list. Let's discuss what makes a UI system good in the first place, how to make it more inclusive, and how to get the team on board.
About our speaker: Mel Linares
Mel Linares works as a senior accessibility specialist, product design consultant, and mentor. Over the last 7 years she’s helped big brands and small businesses design and develop impactful products that champion usability best practices and accessibility compliance. She's a board and card game aficionado and loves introducing and teaching her FLGS (friendly local game store) community about new and accessible games.

Parking/Location Details:
The Chesterfield Building is located at 701 W Main Street, Durham.
There is very limited visitor parking: The visitor lot is a small parking lot behind The Chesterfield building and can be accessed via S Duke Street. Parking for The Chesterfield extends only until the end of the building, at
which point it becomes West Village parking. Your event guests are welcome to park here if there is room, but during business hours they are required to sign in for parking at the front security desk with their name and license plate number. Visitors that are not signed in and remain in the lot for more than 2 hours on M-F from 8-5 are at risk of booting or towing.
West Pettigrew deck (Paid): The West Pettigrew Parking Deck is located about two blocks away from The Chesterfield. This deck is available for paid overflow parking when the visitor lot is full.
Street parking (Paid): There are a limited number of metered parking spaces around the building, but they may or may not be available.
