The focus of ‘Ladies Who Adore Vintage’ is to explore the most interesting “vintage” venues in greater LA— offering both education as well as socialization. A great opportunity to make like-minded friends who have a true love and appreciation for “vintage”. Venues are thoroughly researched and fully described with historical facts. Vintage photos when available are always included of these iconic venues. If you adore vintage you will thoroughly enjoy all the ‘vintage’ events this Meetup group offers! Ladies Who Adore Vintage is best described as a unique “specialty” Meetup Group.
This group is for ladies who enjoy High Teas and Brunch.
High tea should be called afternoon tea, technically and historically speaking. Traditionally, high tea was a working-class meal served on a high table at the end of the workday, shortly after 5 p.m., and included heavy foods. Outside of the U.K., many people refer to afternoon tea as "high tea." So, let's stick with the incorrect phrase "high tea" for now, so that most people here in the U.S. will understand.

If your plans change, please cancel and RSVP as "Not Going" at least 24 hours (1 day) before the event. Failure to do so will result in a no-show. 3 no-shows will ban you from the group 🚫. If there is an emergency, please contact me.
Yes, it actually costs the Organizers money to keep this group open. Meetup is technically NOT free for the group Organizers 😐.
“Vintage Dollz” have a true appreciation for all-things-vintage! This includes: historical architecture, historical restaurants and bar venues, High Tea, classic films at historical theatres, classic car shows, vintage shopping for clothing, accessories, vintage collectibles and decor (flea markets). Other vintage-inspired events include historical tours and vintage dance & music venues. We periodically have monthly event series, such as: exploring vintage diners, delis, Tiki bars, iconic dive-bars and other specific theme events.

NOTIFICATIONS:
For the ability to communicate with you your EMAIL UPDATES and NOTIFICATIONS must be turned on in SETTINGS both on your computer and phone app. Without notifications you will miss out on newly posted events, but more importantly you will miss out on schedule changes. To edit settings on the MOBILE APP, go to your profile icon (bottom right corner), then go to the 3 dots icon (upper right corner). Select "Push notifications", then select "Change email updates." Make certain all options are GREEN.

Why are there strict requirements to join?
Magic Castle passes have been provided for the enjoyment of members of my group by a magician. He entrusts my good judgement in the selection of guests who will adhere to the Magic Castle’s strict rules. We are extremely fortunate to be his guests.🔺The Magic Castle has strict guidelines for attendance. I will be charged $85 pp on my credit card (on file) for all cancelations under 48-hrs. See cancellation policy in photo gallery.
You are NOT eligible to join this event if:
▪️You have been a no-show to any of my events.
▪️You have a record of canceling excessively or have cancelled two or more times under 24-hours.
▪️You have been removed for failure to pay two or more times to any previous event. Note: you will be considered an alternate after the event is full should someone cancel.REQUIREMENTS:
▪️Valid Photo ID REQUIRED. Do NOT forget it!
▪️Strict dress code enforced (see below).Additionally:
🔹YOU MUST ARRIVE ON TIME.
We are taking a group photo before entering. To expedite our entry in order to attempt to arrange a tour and see the first show at 11:30 AM I will be checking-in the entire group with our passes.
🔹You must be willing to stand for long periods of time before show times as well as move up and down several flights of steep stairs throughout the castle without any mobility constraints.
🔹Please do NOT RSVP unless you plan on seeing at least one show. Joining only for Brunch isn’t fair to those waitlisted who would love to be included and participate in both parts.🔺THERE ARE TWO OPTIONS TO JOIN THIS EVENT:
Brunch on Feb 14th or Dinner Jan 24th.- Brunch buffet: $134.00 (without drinks). Add parking fee. Reduced shows.

There is nowhere else in the world that resembles a castle for the performing arts!! If you have never been to the Academy of Magical Arts in Hollywood you are in for an incredible memorable experience. The Magic Castle should be on everyone’s bucket list even if you aren’t into Magic. The mansion is full of surprises, the dining is superb, and the shows are no less than remarkable.

🔺In order to give others a chance to attend you will NOT be permitted to attend both events. You can however waitlist on both brunch and dinner posts to increase your opportunity to join one. Once moved-up you CAN’T swap to the other. There are no exceptions. This event requires a lot of time and effort to coordinate.
We are truly privileged to have member guest passes for our group size of 12. The Magic Castle is the exclusive PRIVATE clubhouse for The Academy of Magical Arts. It’s no secret that The Magic Castle remains among the most sought-after dining destinations in L.A. The members-only club is technically open just to those who are a part of The Academy of Magical Arts (or their guests).

NO REFUNDS FOR CANCELLATIONS OR DENIED ENTRY FOR NON-COMPLIANCE DRESS CODE. The dress code for Brunch is not formal like dinner.

- Dressy casual. Women may wear a dress, skirt or slacks with a dressy top.

A wealthy banker and real estate investor, Rollin B. Lane constructed the Gothic Renaissance chateau in 1909 as a residence for himself and his wife, among what was then a prosperous orange grove. When the building fell into disrepair during its mid-century tenure, brothers and Magic Castle Founders Milt and Bill Larsen convinced then-owner, Thomas O. Glover (former landlord of the beloved Yamashiro restaurant up the road), to transfigure the property into a private club for magicians, which was a lifelong dream of their father’s. To the Larsen brothers, whose lineage of magical family members spanned generations of illusionists and spellbinders, the estate was a perfect setting to house a world of mystique.CARPOOL - SAVE ON PARKING
I encourage meeting at a designated spot near the Magic Castle and carpooling the final distance. I will update you where I park very close by to carpool. If 4 carpool parking is reduced to only $8 - $9 each with attendant tip. I’ve been there many times and this is what we always do to save on the steep parking.
