What we’re about
The focus of ‘Ladies Who Adore Vintage’ is to explore the most interesting “vintage” venues in greater LA— offering both education as well as socialization. A great opportunity to make like-minded friends who have a true love and appreciation for “vintage”. Venues are thoroughly researched and fully described with historical facts. Vintage photos when available are always included of these iconic venues. If you adore vintage you will thoroughly enjoy all the ‘vintage’ events this Meetup group offers! Ladies Who Adore Vintage is best described as a unique “specialty” Meetup Group.
This group is for ladies who enjoy High Teas and Brunch.
High tea should be called afternoon tea, technically and historically speaking. Traditionally, high tea was a working-class meal served on a high table at the end of the workday, shortly after 5 p.m., and included heavy foods. Outside of the U.K., many people refer to afternoon tea as "high tea." So, let's stick with the incorrect phrase "high tea" for now, so that most people here in the U.S. will understand.
🧇 Brunch lovers will see events take place on weekend mornings.
👩🏼🦰 Those who want to host an event or have ideas, feel free to let the Organizer know.
If your plans change, please cancel and RSVP as "Not Going" at least 24 hours (1 day) before the event. Failure to do so will result in a no-show. 3 no-shows will ban you from the group 🚫. If there is an emergency, please contact me.
Yes, it actually costs the Organizers money to keep this group open. Meetup is technically NOT free for the group Organizers 😐.
“Vintage Dollz” have a true appreciation for all-things-vintage! This includes: historical architecture, historical restaurants and bar venues, High Tea, classic films at historical theatres, classic car shows, vintage shopping for clothing, accessories, vintage collectibles and decor (flea markets). Other vintage-inspired events include historical tours and vintage dance & music venues. We periodically have monthly event series, such as: exploring vintage diners, delis, Tiki bars, iconic dive-bars and other specific theme events.
Please feel free to drop us a message if you have any vintage-inspired event suggestions. We would love to hear from you!
Make new friends and become part of our fun-spirited community of “Vintage Dollz” who adore vintage!
Welcome to the group!
—Michelle & Lorena
No-shows and Last-minute cancellations put our ability to book terrific venues at risk! Your event organizers and fellow members will appreciate your courtesy especially when there's a wait list and they hope to join!

JESSICA FICHOT
L.A. based chanteuse, songwriter and accordionist Jessica Fichot is a lot like her hometown of Paris: French at heart, but with a soul that's truly international.Drawing from her multi-ethnic French / Chinese / American upbringing, her music fuses styles and languages, taking the listener on a twisting journey out of the French chanson tradition, into the lands of gypsy jazz, 1940s Chinese swing, international folk , and into the wilderness of her imagination. Listen to samples of her chansons: (http://www.jessicasongs.com/music/)
Recently, in addition to recording and performing with her band, Jessica started working on another (different but related) passion of hers: creating music and sound effects for indie video games. Visit her sister website: jessicaaudio.com (http://www.jessicaaudio.com/) to find out more about her work in video game audio.
With over 100 children's songs published in a dozen countries, Jessica also composes music for many children's educational programs. Listen to samples of her children's music: (http://www.jessicasongs.com/childrens-songs/)

I love Coffee Commissary- my go-to fave neighborhood sandwiches. They are delicious!! George’s Cucina Italiana has delicious pizza & pasta! If you like Mexican, Tacos Desvelados is really popular. If you are not in the mood for dinner you might want to just make a quick stop for DELICIOUS organic vegan frozen yogurt at Yoga-urt or a yummy pastry from Village French Bakery. It’s a short one-block Village with a few eateries to choose from.

Brand Park is a very special park rich in history. For those of you who would like to learn more...The legacy of Leslie Combs Brand is both remarkable and fascinating. He was an integral part in the founding and development of Glendale, hence, why Brand Blvd and the Americana at Brand were named after him. Like every interesting character in history there are many stories to be told including dark secrets.
Here’s two very interesting articles on Leslie C. Brand. If you love L.A. history like I do you may want to view this lengthy documentary which discusses Brand’s many accomplishments and contributions to Glendale and Los Ángeles.
