Café on 27 gets absolutely packed on weekends. Tables are limited to 4 guests and without a reservation seating takes up to 1-1/2 hours wait.
Food is centered around seasonal fruits and vegetables, with grass-fed beef and ethically-sourced animal ingredients. You could start your morning off with a âCanyon Slamâ or try out the avocado toast for brunchâwhich is topped with radish, sesame, ginger, and comes with a side of fresh fruit.

CAFĂ ON 27
Whether youâre driving up from PCH or the Valley this is such a gorgeous scenic drive through the Canyon. Youâll pass crystal shops, outdoor Shakespeare amphitheaters, and home-made art installations that have become local landmarks in Topanga Canyon.
The almost entirely outdoor space is built into the side of a hill with a multi-level patio that feels like youâre eating inside the âtree-houseâ of your childhood dreams. Cafe 27âs outdoor patio is soaked in sunshine all day long and you can enjoy brunch, lunch, coffee and even the occasional jazz or poetry readings. While sitting outdoors youâre overlooking the leafy canyon to gaze at the blanket of bright green trees with sprinkles of color from blooms while enjoying the crisp air soaking up the sun.
This American-style diner is not only immersed in nature, but thereâs a strong environmental theme that runs through the entire eatery, from the menu to the decor. Youâll find yourself surrounded by wooden beams, exposed trusses, and carved countertops with gnarled railings, all reflecting the natural surroundings. This means, the traditional fare on organically pressed palm leaf plates. You wonât find any plastic straws or any glasses here, everything used is compostable, recyclable or designed to use a minimal amount of water.
Itâs a beacon of environmental consciousness that still manages to be incredibly pleasing on every level. You can even spot birds on the half-cut eucalyptus tree where owner Amir Rofougaran has built an eagleâs nestâalthough, hawks and owls made themselves at home before any eagles could get to it.
