When released in 1968, George Romero's low-budget horror film "Night of the Living Dead" was considered one of the goriest films ever. Romero and company created something crude and terrifying, with gross-out special effects of zombies chomping away at humans living and newly dead – images that have endured down through the years.
Think a live theater production of this modern-day classic can't live up to the film? Think again.
