ABOUT US
Hello Ladies! I’m excited that our group is growing so rapidly and that so many of your are engaging in our events!!
Our common goal is to meet and build real relationships at and outside of our Meetup events. Set a goal to walk away from each event with a few new phone numbers, then actually CALL each other once in a while. Let's build each other up, check in on each other, lean on each other and provide support. Let's move beyond "Lucinda from Meetup" and get to know each other's last names, lives and passions. Are you with me?
I rely on you to recommend a variety of events so that the group becomes and remains interesting to everyone. Will you help me with that??
Join us and invite your girlfriends. Try something new. I can't wait to connect with you!
Your hostess, organizer and new girlfriend,
Lucinda Layton

NO SHOWS AND LAST MINUTE CANCELLATIONS
Our groups is rapidly growing, and most events are filling up quickly. With that in mind, I want to address our growing number of no-shows and last minute cancellations.
Last minute cancellations should be an exception (like your broke your leg and there's a bone sticking out), not a rule. Last minute vacancies often go unfilled, even when there’s a waitlist because ladies have already made other plans. Please only RSVP to events that you are sure you want to attend and keep your RSVPs up-to-date. Do not RSVP before checking your calendar. Do not RSVP if you're waiting to see if something better comes along.
No-shows and last minute cancellations are frustrating and, well...not so mannerly. I ask that you keep in mind the volume of time, energy AND COST (yes, your organizers pay an annual out-of-pocket fee to MeetUp) that goes into planning events for you, including visiting venues, researching events, coordinating reservations and fielding lots of questions from the group. So, trust me, when an event finally rolls around, I’m so ready to enjoy it!! But when you just don't show up, your hostess is most likely worried that you couldn’t find us, couldn’t find parking or you were too nervous to meet a group of strangers. Your hostess then spends time trying to reach you, looking for you on the street, apologizing to the restaurant for the unfilled seats, and checking the her phone to make sure you’re not lost. That makes it virtually impossible for your hostess to enjoy her own event. So please exercise basic common courtesy and etiquette - keep your RSVPs up to date and please CALL your hostess/organizer if you’re cancelling within 24 hours of the event. It's the decent thing to do. Thanks for your understanding and contributions to this amazing tribe of women. ❤️

Friends,
Did you know Second Harvest Silicon Valley feeds over 500,000 in Silicon Valley every month? Yep, that's whole lot of hungry people, and a whole lot of food.
Some folks tend to think about Second Harvest during the holiday season. But guess what? They need us all year round. Can you spare two hours to sort and pack food with me? I promise you, it's worth it!
This volunteer gig is fast paced with lots of movement and you'll be on your feet for the entire two hours. You might be packing food, sorting food, maybe moving 30 pound boxes, touching lots of veggies, labeling boxes, etc. We'll find a job that works for you, so join us if you can.
