Simply Walk to Mordor: LoTR Hike Series

Let's simply...walk to Mordor.

This is to be the first in a (very long) series of hikes, covering the same mileage as Frodo and Sam taking the ring to Mount Doom.

We'll kick things off with an easy 3 mile loop at Sope Creek, and I'd love for folks to chime in with other trail/location ideas!

Distances were sourced from a TikTok, so they may not be entirely accurate, but:

Hobbiton to Bree: 120 miles
Bree to Rivendell: 300 miles
Rivendell to Moria: 175 miles
Moria to Lothlorien: 100 miles
Lothlorien to Amon Hen: 300 miles
Amon Hen to Black Gate: 160 miles
Black Gate to Minas Morgol: 110 miles
Minas Morgol to Cirith Ungol: 15 miles
Cirith Ungol to Mount Doom 70 miles

TOTAL: 1350 miles

So let's start walkin', because it's an awfully long way to Bree.

Cloaks, elf ears, and cosplay encouraged as long as you have appropriate footwear.

Be sure to bring anything else you might like on the hike (i.e. water bottle, walking stick...etc).
