Birders!
Please join us on October 30 for Birds & Energy - Understanding our human energy challenges in the context of life. Please RSVP at link, above, to attend the talk at 6:30. (No RSVP required for 5:45-6:30 demo). Why should birders attend “Birds & Energy?” Let me list the ways!
- To speak with representative from IdentiFlight. This Louisville company has developed bird detection systems that not only result in lower bird mortality at wind turbines, but are also can add much to our knowledge of bird migration and other movements. Come at 5:45-6:30 to speak with Identiflight!
- The talk (for adults and teens) that starts at 6:30 will feature Alice Madden (National Audubon Society’s Senior Director of Climate Strategy) and Brad Begin (Alpen High Performance Products). RSVP requested - see link above.
- Support my non-profit, Geo Sapiens, which provides information and programming that integrates environmental education and energy education as an important part of the work. As many of you know, birds have been a big part of my educational efforts over the past decade, and the bird-energy link is as substantive and important as it is quirky! Support for this program will make a difference!
