Brooklyn Shoreway Bike Ride
Details
Bicycle on a paved, car-free path along the ocean. We loved this ride last week because of the lovely smell of the sea breeze and the birds and the boats.
We’ll meet in Owl’s Head Park on the benches near the (clean) restrooms. You can rent a NYC Citi Bike ten minutes away if you don’t have one. Then we’ll bike along the water for about an hour, have a snack and return the way we came. It’s five miles from Owl’s Head to Calvert Vaux Park, but you can do as much or as little as you like - or even continue on to Coney Island if you were feeling energetic.
We’re just getting back into biking, so the pace will be civilized: 8-12 mph. Things to bring are water, snacks, sunscreen. Adults are not legally required to wear helmets in New York, but it would make Nurse Natalie so happy if you did.
