Welcome to the LahtiSec meetup at Pikkuteatteri!

Event Language: English 🇬🇧, except the "Paikallispuolustus-info"

Event and theme:

The event is typically known as an 'after-work meetup,' where the ambiance is intentionally designed to be relaxed and effortlessly casual. At its core, the gathering encourages attendees to connect and engage in spontaneous conversations about anything that piques their interest. After all, it's a meetup – a space where people can come together, unwind, and let the natural flow of interactions foster meaningful connections.

The broad theme in this particular meetup is technical cyber security, red teaming, and deep-end hacking. We will stream some parts of this event through our Twitch channel as well.

Registration:
This is a private event. The event is free of charge. However, You'll have to register for the event to be able to attend. There is a list at the door, and you won't get in without your name on the list.

Venue:
Pikkuteatteri is a beautiful venue with direct access to the bar Tirra, with a solid selection of craft beers and a couple of pinball games. There is a cloakroom service on site.

Servings:
Beverages from Tirra (access from inside) must be enjoyed at Tirra premises. This time, the venue is NOT a dispensing district. Our chairman forgot to inform the venue about this. You might want to BYOB, but that's your responsibility. Please clean up after you as well. Thank you.

Other servings are still open since we don't have a sponsor for this event yet. We might be able to offer something, but I wouldn't rely on that. The Budget is negative already due to premises.

Schedule:

  • 17:30 - 🚪Doors open
    Please arrive sooner than later...
  • 18:00 - A word from LahtiSec + Paikallispuolustuksen Puheenvuoro (Kyber)
  • 18:45 - Q&A, Break, Networking
  • 19:00 - Talk: Fuck it, just DIY by Joona Hoikkala

A $tool doesn’t work the way you want? See an unresolved technical problem in a space you are interested in? What should the approach be, and how to tackle it?

Diving deep into fixing issues that people didn’t even consider being issues. Observing the process through the origin stories of ffuf, acme-dns, and a DIY in-house EASM solution. Just say fuck it, and embrace the chaos.

  • 19:45 - Q&A, Break, Networking
  • 20:00 - Talk: HW-hacking all the things, tips and tricks with a budget by Tomi Koski

The presentation aims to raise awareness of HW hacking among hackers and people. Share background from electronics manufacturing, testing, etc. Also, the idea is to show how to lift firmware from devices and offer an easy solution to build your boot camp for HW-hacking

  • 20:45 - Q&A, Final words, closing ceremony

  • 🍻 The evening continues with Pystyy Vetää at Tirra (right next door)
