What we’re about

Dear Pianists,

This is a reboot of a previous group I ran that I’d now like to relaunch and take to the next level. Without getting into the personal details of why it paused, the heart of it is this: I want to bring it back—stronger, more professional, and with a clearer sense of purpose.

The goal is to gather pianists of all backgrounds—whether hobbyists, teachers, students, or professionals—and sometimes their guests and audiences too. Some events will have a fee to cover costs, as I’m treating this as a quasi-career endeavor. I’d love to connect with others who are serious about music and community.

Here’s what I’m envisioning:

  1. Social Meetups (Free)
Relaxed gatherings with an open piano. Guests welcome. A chance to play informally, meet new people, and build the group organically.

  2. Piano Performance Workshops ($15/person)
Capped at 10 pianists. Each participant gets at least two performance opportunities, along with feedback and spot work. These are for musicians who want to grow and improve.

  3. Joint Concerts ($15/ticket)
Full-length concerts (1–2 hours) with multiple performers. I can host some solo concerts, but the real goal is collaboration—featuring diverse players on a shared program. Performer and host fees are split.

Right now, I’m in a growth phase—looking to connect with people who are genuinely interested and ready to participate. I’m also handling some personal/home logistics, so I expect this to take a few months to fully relaunch.

In the meantime, I’m building the member base and setting the foundation. The last version of this group was a great success—and with my dream instrument (a beautiful Bösendorfer grand piano my wife gifted me), I’m ready to take things even further.

Thanks for being here. I’m excited to see where this can go, and I hope to see you at an event soon.

Warmly,
James
