What we’re about
G'day folks!
Lake Joondalup and the fringing bushland are beautiful and important natural assets in the greater Perth region.
The Lake is a permanent waterbody with many varieties of birdlife, natural fringing vegetation, and flowering plants year-round.
My name is Paul. I grew up in Edgewater, and have walked the Yaberoo Budjara trail since 1981.
There have been many changes in the area over the past 4 decades, with suburban development and a growing population, with the resulting pressures on the natural environment.
I have been very fortunate to have studied Environmental Management at Edith Cowan University (Joondalup campus). I have some great memories of the field work we carried out in the surrounding bushland in the 1990's.
I will lead informative, educational walks on the botany, geology, water and climate of our surroundings.
We will meet at Neil Hawkins Park every Sunday morning, at 8.30am. The walk will be 2 hours long. The details are below:
MEETING PLACE: Yorga statue, Neil Hawkins Park, Boas Avenue, JOONDALUP
MEETING TIME: 8.30am
WALK DURATION: 2 hours
COST: $6 per person, cash only please
I look forward to meeting you all over the year 2025.
Kind regards,
Paul
