Hear the Sound

God's love, God's presence, can be experienced in our everyday lives. It comes to us through Light and Sound. Our focus this evening is the Sound. Here's what the Shariyat-Ki-Sugmad (the Eckankar holy scriptures) has to say about this aspect of God:

"The Word, the Voice of the Sᴜɢᴍᴀᴅ [God], goes forth like a wave from the center of a pond and sings Its way through all the planes in many different songs and melodies. Each is the living Word, creating and giving life to everything in each world. By its very life—this ECK, the essence of the Sᴜɢᴍᴀᴅ, the Spirit of all things—life exists.

When It reaches the end of the worlds It returns like the wave, gathering up all Souls that are ready to do God’s work. They are returned to the true home and become Coworkers with God, having completed their mission in life."

The Sound (and Light) are with us—always. It is the wind in the leaves, the singing of birds, ocean waves, thunder, laughter and the din of city traffic.
