This is a group for people who want to enjoy outdoor walks with friendly people while supporting a great cause! We regularly schedule walks around Lakeland, with all proceeds going to Merit Foundation, a Lakeland-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Merit Foundation serves disabled individuals in Laos, Thailand and Myanmar by providing groceries, medicine, clothing, housing, transportation and other necessities. I, Sam, am the director of Merit Foundation and I do not receive any compensation from this Meetup group or from my work with Merit Foundation. Let's walk around Lake Hollingsworth! This beautiful lake is a staple for outdoor walking in Lakeland. We will meet at the Lakeland Country Club parking lot entrance and enjoy the 3-mile walk at a casual pace. Free parking is available in the parking lot beside the Lakeland Country Club. Please be aware that there are no public bathroom facilities on the walking path. We'll keep an eye on the weather as the event approaches. I will be there about 15 minutes before the event begins, probably wearing my camo Waffle House hat. :) Hope to see you there!
