Join us for a tranquil evening walk through Lakeland Highlands Scrub as we enjoy the last hour of daylight while looking and listening for birds along the trail. Bring your phone with your favorite birding app (Merlin by Cornell University is recommended). We will walk together on the sandy trail while we use our phones to identity birds in the area. Expect to walk for about an hour at a slower pace, and plan to keep conversations at low volume so that we can hear the bird calls. There is a porta-potty at the trailhead. We will end our walk with a few quiet moments on the boardwalk as we take in the sights and sounds of the close of day. No prior knowledge of birding is required. Just come and enjoy a calm, relaxing walk with friends surrounded by nature.
